Training in Psychotherapy for Practitioners Working with Expanded States

An Orientation for Therapeutic Practice

Expanded state experiences are re-entering modern healthcare - through psychedelic-assisted therapy, breathwork, mindfulness, and other modalities. They may evoke emotional, psychological, somatic, relational, spiritual, and existential material in ways that transcend any single therapeutic modality.

Many practitioners experienced in this work agree that it is best supported by an inner-directed therapeutic approach. Rather than directing or interpreting, the therapist's role is to support the conditions in which clients can turn inward, and to hold and respond skilfully to whatever unfolds.

Many practitioners, as they integrate expanded states into their work, find themselves in one of two positions: either lacking the therapeutic foundations to confidently support clients through these experiences, or needing to unlearn years of more directive approaches to work in a genuinely open and responsive way.

Our training programs support practitioners in both positions. Drawing from enduring therapeutic traditions and contemplative practices that long predate Western psychology, our programs offer a clear, jargon-free framework for inner-directed work - taught experientially, with an emphasis on practice, observation, and feedback.

Our programs are designed for therapists, healthcare practitioners, and body-based facilitators working across the full range of expanded state modalities - including psychedelic-assisted therapy, breathwork, somatics, yoga, meditation, and beyond.

“It is the client who knows what hurts, what directions to go, what problems are crucial, what experiences have been deeply buried.”
